Multi-residential Housing design proposal for the final design studio of the Bachelor of Architecture. Students were asked to re-imagine the future of housing, densification, and community.
My project blurb:
The most powerful place of community emergence is not found within public space, nor is it found within private space; rather it exists at the threshold between the two: the front fence of the front door. This golden threshold is usually limited to ground-floor dwellings and thair inhabitants. This proposal attempts to enable community emergence on every floor. By locating the circulation corridor so that it passes all private front gardens, a multitude of private/public thresholds are created. Whilst not all residents seek community, this arrangement provides everyone with the choice and the opportunity to do so.
