Chameau

Conceptualization, design, build and branding of Chameau a French, Moroccan bistro. Los Angeles. CA

The client had experienced my Moroccan restaurant Tizi Melloul [see PROJECT 007] in Chicago and wanted to recreate a similar concept in LA. I redirected the client and designed a fresh take on the "Moroccan" experience. From the exterior facade with its burnished copper panels, traditional lanterns, Berber carpet and spice containers you have a preconceived notion of what to expect but this is where the cliches stop and as you pass through the heavily carved door you enter an electric neon Morocco that abstractly references Camels [Chameau is French for camel] and desert scapes.
