Beyond The Strip there’s another Las Vegas, an affluent residential community with an ever-increasing population. Downtown Summerlin, is a new mixed-use development that is creating a lively, walkable center with a traditional main street grid that encourages easy movement of people and vehicles. With a design inspired by the desert lifestyle the development features pedestrian scaled buildings set among network of shaded outdoor spaces — sidewalks, passages and gathering and dining places and an iconic fabric covered space — all cooled by natural means, not air conditioning. In addition to diverse mix of retail, dining and entertainment venues, the center includes a nine-story office building at its core, featuring an open breezeway as a lobby.
