DORMITORY
The aim of the project was to find new function for postindustrial “TREFL” building, which used to be paper factory. Referring to excellent localization and unique character of the object it was proposed to restore it to the dormitory. Building is divided into 3 main functions: services, bedrooms and common integration spaces with an atrium in the middle. Tin cubes on the elevation are a form of the building extension and they are reflecting the industrial character of the place. Integration area is simultaneously a winter garden with huge tree. Its aim is to give students opportunity to run away from study for few minutes and get a deep breath of fresh air. Tree-tube is also ventilation system support.
