Scale Shift: Connect Four was entered into an internal Olson Kundig competition to design a pavilion for the 2016 Seattle Design Festival. The project was a fun way to bring people together to enjoy the park and each others company.

A large scale cultural icon draws people in from a distance. Creating a unique, tactile, experience playing the game at the human scale is what keeps them there. This directly reflects what our team values in architecture; beauty from a distance and a memorable experiance within.

The design and all related files were then going to be made available on the website as an open source template that anyone could download and build at home. This would generate traffic on the firm’s website increasing the awareness of our greater body of work.
