Sima is a multi-disciplinary designer at the intersection of kinetic architecture, industrial design, robotics and animation. Her goal is to enhance the human being’s life experience through integration of robotics into built environments. She seeks novel innovative applications of industrial robotics.

Most recently, she has been working in developing the NASA-awarded Mars habitat design “Marsha” featured in The Wall Street Journal, BBC, The Financial Times, OGlobo to name a few. Then she led design team of “TERA”, the earth habitat, born out of Marsha's skin. Tera is featured globally in New York times, Age of AI (Youtube Doc), NBC,etc. She had a key role in setting up a successful fundraising indiegogo campaign for TERA. Lately, she has founded Studio SIMA which will be focusing on the peace with earth!

She has completed her MArch II at UCLA, SUPRASTUDIO program, under Greg Lynn where she has been affiliated with Aerospace Boeing factory, Bot & Dolly Design Studio, IDEAS Robotic Lab at UCLA, Cirque Du Soleil to name a few.

Currently, I am a designer and researcher in R&D department of AI Space Factory based in New York. My areas of interest and research are in the fields of kinetic architecture, smart cities of future, robotic fabrication technologies and interaction design.

I have worked with interdisciplinary design firm “wHY Architecture” for the award winning project “Ross Povilion and gardens” international competition re-imagining Edinburgh’s west princes street gardens. Additionally, I have put together construction documents for R-Gallery renovation project located in Tribeca, new york.

While working in KDA, for each project, I was responsible for different phases such as conceptual design, design development, building simulation, site visits, and meeting with clients. In addition, I got more experienced in zoning, building codes, professional physical model making and photography, graphical presentation, quick and accurate 2D and 3D drawing, and façade parametric design and detailing. UCLA’s Mo Ostin Basketball Center which is now in construction phase, and Berkeley Global Campus (recognized in AIA and “LA next LA”) are among the projects that I collaborated in KDA.
