Project completed for a traveling topic studio in fall 2010 conducted under Peter Ebner and Alexander Müller entirely in Munich Germany (with associated trips around Europe, including to Berlin, Stuttgart, and the Venice architecture Biennale). The studio was intended to investigate the concept of 'vertical living' - future modes of dense residential tower typologies.
My project proposed a contemporary art focused multi-use tower in Berlin, with live/work spaces for artists, flexible communal living spaces, an arts hotel, loft apartments for collectors, and an elevated contemporary art museum at the project's heart. The tower's siting on an underdeveloped patch of land at the edge of Berlin's Mitte arts district is meant to activate further arts-centered expansion, and to provide an icon for contemporary Berlin in complement to the GDR-era Fernsehturm.
