The site is located at the National Mall of Washington D.C. Adjacent to other museums upholding modern categories of knowledge. Following the installation design, this new Smithsonian National Museum will be focused on navigation. This museum will inspire the public about the close relationship between human and environment with exhibition of premodern navigational instruments. Also, the museum itself will be integrated with environment so that the visitors can explore the building by navigating themselves with the environmental references such as the sun or the landmark.
