Boston, MA
As the Boston Architectural College enters into its 125th year, the BAC is pleased to share the success of its graduates in today's job markets.
At graduation, 85% of BAC 2012- 2013 graduates were employed at the time of program completion - 80% of undergraduates and 90% of Masters. Large firms continue to employ a number of students, while many find homes in small- and mid-sized firms, as well as an increasing array of non-traditional employment in engineering, construction, facilities management and real estate development. The BAC faculty of practicing designers understands the skills needed for success in today's challenging and increasingly global design environment. While at the BAC, students already are experienced design professionals, with professional portfolios, resumes and networks already established.
BAC graduates are consistently cited as being among the most prepared for the design challenges of the 21st century. Employers value the skills and practical approach BAC students bring, and many students have risen to advanced positions within firms by the time they complete their degree.
The BAC's innovative, practice-based curriculum integrates professional design practice more extensively than traditional co-op programs. Most BAC students complement their academic studies with full-time work within firms and community-based activities.
Many of the BAC's most successful students and graduates began their studies elsewhere and transfer to the BAC after taking coursework or completing programs at other institutions. The BAC's rolling admissions and transfer policies support the College's commitment to accessibility, and its Leadership Scholarship Program rewards those who demonstrate passion for design and community. The BAC welcomes transfer students from any major of study at both the undergraduate and graduate level, and is still accepting transfer application for spring 2014.
Those interested in learning more about BAC programs are invited to attend one of the Open House and Integrated Studio Experiences, which provide opportunities to explore graduate and undergraduate programs in Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture and Design Studies. Participants have the opportunity to attend a studio class, experience what life is like for BAC students, and to learn more about design education and careers.
