The Boston Architectural College (BAC) is pleased to announce that the Interior Architecture Collaborative (IAC) at the BAC won Best Student Entry at the IIDA (International Interior Design Association) of New England Fashion Show on October 18. The IAC at the BAC bested several colleges and universities, including New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and Endicott College.

The IAC at the BAC team was made up of Interior Architecture students, Design Studies students, Architecture students, and a couple of BAC alumni, including Selma Ba-solouh; Alissa Marcano Santelli; Tobiloba Ogunnoiki; Trairong Traisorulak; Rakan Alsuhaibani; Alexis Riggott; Anh Le; Gloria Asaba Kissa; Vidhi Fouzdar; Mayasim Ammar, B.Arch '18; and Nicole Ezell, B.Arch '18.

The BAC's winning entries were modeled by Interior Architecture students Boliak Seng and Ana Carolina dos Santos Vieira. Their entry theme statement was "The Melting Pot: That's America, that's the BAC, that's us. We are the reflection of the blend of many different types of cultures, traditions, and beliefs. Our strength and unity lie in our differences and diversities and not similarities."

"It was so inspiring to watch our diverse team come together and work long hours into the nights and weekends to realize their goal," says Denise Rush, interim dean of Interior Architecture. "To see them recognized for their hard work and beautiful designs was incredibly rewarding."

The BAC was also recognized at the IIDA of New England Fashion Shows in 2016 and 2017. In 2016, MIA student Sophie Ortel won Best Walk, and in 2017, the BAC received a special Recognition of Excellence. IAC at the BAC would like to give recognition to their industry partners Coalesse (steelcase) and Cambria, and a special thanks to Michelle McGuire, MIA '18 for her guidance and insight.
