Germantown Dance Theater

My design influence behind the theater is the motion through progression based on the infused performance of Indian Dance and Contemporary Ballet. Both share the motion of elegance and progression via the unique hand gestures, especially that of the Indian Dance. This modern and structural theater is designed to welcome both cultural Indian dance and ballet lovers. From the placement of the stage and audience, the structural elements, to the angled walls, this building consists of walls gradually shifting influenced by the movement of the ballet. I wanted to create a space where it greeted its guests with big architectural gestures in this industrial style influenced theater and allow these shifted walls to naturally guide them through the main auditorium space.
