FMC Tower at Cira Centre

Two blocks from 30th Street Station and the original Cira Centre, FMC Tower at Cira South is a gleaming front door to the emerging University City neighborhood. The 47-story, mixed-use tower contains the global headquarters of the specialty chemical company FMC Corporation. Apartments, shops, and dining will also fill the tower.

Sharing the architectural language established with Cira Centre, FMC has an angled, crystalline form sheathed in a reflective curtain wall. However, facing Penn Park to the south, FMC’s minimally textured façade is gently curved and chamfered. The lower edge of the façade also is lifted, forming a covered colonnade and revealing the glass-walled lobbies. The double-height office lobby will offer dramatic views of Center City.

The offices, which feature floor-to-ceiling glass, will have views of the Schuylkill River, Penn Park, and downtown. In addition to FMC Corp., the University of Pennsylvania will be a major office tenant. Above the office levels, the tower’s topmost floors contain 260 residential apartments. An amenity floor includes a spa and fitness center, private room for entertaining, and a conference center. The ground floor will feature retail and dining.

Cira Green, a one-acre elevated park atop the adjacent 1,600-space parking garage, connects to FMC Tower by a sky bridge. A glass elevator will also bring visitors to this outdoor green space, an everyday retreat for office workers and residents as well as a place for corporate events, concerts and performances. The park’s plantings will flow into a green wall adjacent to FMC Tower’slobby, extending the greenery to street level.

FMC Tower completes the Cira South development, which also includes the student housing tower Evo. Balancing Evo across Cira Green, the building is a dynamic addition to a vibrant neighborhood.
