This redesign of an office corridor in an industrial building uses simple methods to generate an exiting spacial installation. Sisal rope was hung from wall to wall and varied in its fixing height. This generates an active ceiling which transitions between entrance and end of corridor from a multifaceted into a simple, calm surface. Illumination was designed to be hidden for indirect illumination of presentation boards. This way the corridor turns into a product gallery. The sisal in combination with the visible light sources and their colour gives the space a warm and cosy atmosphere which invites to rest and stroll around instead of the "escape corridor" feeling before the conversion. By selecting LED technology the illumination levels have been tippled while the energy consumption was reduced.
