Runa Workshop is a sharp, energetic design practice focused on architecture and interior design. A common desire to live and work creatively is what brought founding principals Jean Pierre Trou and Aaron Vollmer together. They bring this passion into all aspects of a project. Runa’s combination of owner-centric design, an enthusiasm for innovation, technical mastery, and a spirit of collaboration provides their clients lasting, innovative designs with a competitive edge.

Jean Pierre and Aaron met in 2005 while working at one of the largest local architectural firms in Austin, Texas. It would be here that they would first collaborate. In 2009, Jean Pierre and Aaron decided to create a different kind of architecture firm: one that inspires design collaboration, encourages practice and fosters creativity. The name, Runa Workshop summarizes the concept. “Runa” in Quechua - the native language of the Incas - means “people.” A workshop is a place for creativity, where ideas and solutions rise, and where a craft is developed. Together, Runa Workshop means “people exchanging ideas.”
