This was a fast paced housing competition with a 2 week turn around time for the deliverables. It was designed in conjunction with another firm in the Chicago Area - Valerio Dewalt Train. The concept was focused on the idea of developing housing based on the rich natural setting of the Vanderbilt University. The trees from the green and their wild placement followed the courtyard of the housing and was brought in vertically through section and the exterior facade spaces.
The courtyard space was designed to be the heart of the housing. Year long activities like frisbee, studying and gatherings were to be hosted here as well as end of year commencements. The site also include an outdoor theater that was visible from all sides of the site. The units on every side were meant ot have views either to the courtyard or the campus.
