A 1905 Townhouse was completely gutted to create a modern, functional space that maintained the history of its shell. The space was opened up, and double height areas accentuate the interplay of volumes throughout the building. A large portion of the back wall was removed and fitted with steel and glass doors to link the interior with the garden. Rich, warm materials, designed with crisp lines, play against the historical envelope. A thirty foot shaft above the master bath area provides natural light and a window on the sky
