This was one of the guardhouse proposals for a 4-hectare, 341-unit, mid-cost housing development in Laguna, Philippines. The client wanted a statement to greet the homeowners as they enter but with minimal cost implications. The design addressed this concern by placing a massive 4.2 meter high gate & guardhouse which spans the 12 meter RROW. By doing this, the structure did not only create a statement by size but also by the actual experience of having to go through a  sort of portal as compared to the usual guardhouses which cars only "pass by" because of its underwhelming size and shape.
