Louis Vuitton opened a renovated store at the Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta, Ga. The space visually represents the brand’s heritage and craftsmanship with an innovative Epi glass façade – the first and only design of its kind in the U.S. The storefront is meticulously constructed of two thick blocks of backlit glass with a custom inner layer and laminated. The glass itself is embedded with stainless steel and sculpted to mimic the fashion brand’s signature textured Epi leather pattern seen on bag handles.
In collaboration with Blue Water Glass, Inc. out of Port Huron, Mich., Pulp Studio designed the vertical support panel of the storefront consisted of 5/16” Low Iron over 5/16” Low Iron, utilizing Eastman Structural PVB. The system featured custom CNC milled 19 mm Low Iron glass consisting of 2.3” wide narrow strips with profile milled edges, scallops and high luster polishing. Each strip was separated with custom machined and bright polished 1/8” stainless bars on each edge, which matches the profile of the scalloped glass. The scalloped strips and polished stainless was then laminated to the vertical support panel for a horizontal profiled glass and stainless appearance.
