Research explores the domain of Directionality of Movement in the space. Decision of directionality is based on construction of perspective / vistas. Perspective / Vistas are constructed according to a virtual-visual reference datum : Horizon.
Research tries to analyse how vistas direct directionality of movement in the space, with Horizon as the reference datum.
Research sets it realms based on analysis of art -exhibition pavilion by Adjaye + Eliasson : Your Black Horizon where vistas are created in such a way that they direct the movement. It is developed in two parts, parallely, that are integrated and applied in the thesis proposal later on.

I spatial condition : multiple directionalities
II geometric condition : phenomenon of split
Spatial condition of Splitting Directionalities when applied to the geometric study of split, gives rise to a matrix of apertures. In this matrix, not only different directionalities intersect, but they also form a melting zone of different directionalities.
Research sets up desired architectural conditions with means of geometric study and buliding analysis.
It puts forward a spatial configuration, matrix of apertures, which has a potential to be transforemed into architectural design in either literal or subtle ways.
Media Village For Olympic 2016
at Porto Maravilla | Rio de Janeiro | Brazil
Results of the research are used to generate a spacial configuration which can adapt to the desired mixed-use programme for the project.
For Olympics 2016 project shall be used for media personnel as accomodation and other activities.
After the olympics, project shall be used as as tourist and convention center along with accommodation for tourists. Housing shall be owned by the local people who can offer accommodation to tourists on ‘bed + breakfast’ basis.
Social goals of the project is connect tourists with the locals so that, tourists get a better insight of the brazilinan culture and become part of the social fabric of Rio de Janeiro. Social accedental encounters will certainly encourage bonding between the tourists and the locals.
