This project is an exploration of Minnesota Experimental City (MXC), a futuristic attempt from the late 1960s to the mid-1970s to build an all-new, pollution-free metropolis in rural northern Minnesota envisioned by Athelstan Spilhaus. The original goals for the MXC included complete material and water recycling, elimination of the internal combustion engine etc.
As envisioned in the MXC project, the multimodal transit hub features Maglev train and Maglev cars which is carbon free and runs at ultra high speed. Guideways for Maglev (skytran) cars can be constructed on existing roads. Smart cars and electric vehicles occupy the road. The transit hub is also a temporary resting hub where visitors can relax in rented pods for couple of hours while waiting for connections. Media: 3DS Max and Revit
