The Street in the Tower is a multi-use building that takes a new spin on the ‘tower in the park’ to maximize real estate value, light, and views. Using minimum floor area at its base, the tower touches the ground lightly, leaving park space on the lot open to light, air, and public use. Because the area is lacking in amenities for residents, the streetscape is woven from the sidewalk up into the tower itself, providing a ramping thoroughfare of restaurants, stores, offices, and resident community areas. Facade perforations on upper floors are less dense yet larger to give apartment residents expansive views as well as shade. On lower, public levels, the perforations are more dense yet smaller to provide privacy from the street while allowing more light inside for public events and activities.
