Imagine the moment you enter a hospital. An overwhelming sense of fear and anxiety ensues. Hospital design, though efficient technologically, creates a high-anxiety and stressful environment for patients and visitors. As various studies show, anxiety, fear, and stress slow the rate of healing. The humanistic and nature quality of healing is lacking in modern health care design. How can we create an environment for healing and relaxation for recovering patients?
My thesis compiles numerous evidence-based design studies into a unified solution for an ultimate healing environment for patients recovering from Interventional Cardiology procedures. The solution explores a "Back-to-Nature" approach integrated with a high level of hospitality and holistic therapies, while subtly implementing cutting-edge technology into the healing environment.
