As computers take over, libraries need to adapt. A fracture has occurred between the past and present since the computer had changed the way we think and operate. This library has taken that literally by having rooms that relate to books underground and computer related rooms are above ground, demonstrating the transition and relationship of books and computers.
Williamsburg has a deep connection to the arts. The community can come, learn, and create together at the library, which also functions as an extension of the park to the north. Although on the surface it appears as if each art form has its own separate building, they are all one, with the same foundation: a library. If people have a solid foundation in learning and knowledge then they will be able to soar into the future.
