I am looking to make my mark in the world of Architecture. I am pursuing a career as a licensed architect. I open the building for clients, setup how they want it, make sure things run smoothly during the performance, direct parking, clean up after the show and secure the building.
I also work some office hours where I create fliers, documents, marketing strategies, and other clerical work.
Recently, I have been advising the Auditorium Director how to better make the facility and performances more in line with the ideas of Universal Design.
Art.com through AppleOne, Raleigh, NC, US, Customer Service and Support
Answered phones where I would answer customer questions and help them order products. Including finding print, deciding on material to print on, framing options, filling out the order form, payments, and making sure the customer was satisfied with their purchases.
Also worked with people who had problems with their orders, so I tracked order, gave instructs for returning items or receiving refunds, helped ensure 100% satisfaction. I received 90%+ satisfaction ratings from customers, which is the highest rating we could receive.
ODL, Inc., Zeeland, MI, US, Assembly Line Worker
Worked on a line with ten other people creating window fixtures. I worked every part of the line. If there was down time I made sure to stay busy by cleaning, restocking supplies, fixing broken windows, or working on another line. I was one of the most efficient and accurate workers there. I spotted imperfections everyone else would miss.
I often helped with training new temps and catching them up when they fell behind, so that our numbers would not drop. I helped them spot flaws, so they would know what to look for and how to prevent it.
Lawrence Technological University, Southfield, MI, US, Student Assistant for the College of Architecture & Design
I worked mostly for the Assistant to the Dean creating documents, spreadsheets, and mailing lists. I was entrusted with confidential staff and student information as well as money. I was in charge of mail and office supplies. I also created several fliers and posters for different events the college was sponsoring such as the lecture series hosted by the school and AIA.
During the summer I worked for the Dean researching high schools for a marketing campaign. I researched the schools and then put the information into a precise report. I also did some research for a few of the professors.
Herman Miller through Adecco, Zeeland, MI, US, Materials Handler & Assembly Line
I worked during the summers; two as a material handler and two on an assembly line. As a material handler, I made fewer mistakes than any other temp and most of the full time workers. I was able to complete my job in a timely manner, often able to help others with their work because my own was caught up. On the assembly line, they kept me an a skeleton crew because I was such a hard worker I would work faster and more accurately than most. I was able to help train the new temps on the skeleton crew. When I was moved onto the full line I was taught positions no other temp learned. I was faster than most of the workers, even those who had been there for fifteen years or more. I was so impressive my supervisor offered me a full time position even though she knew I was going back to school in the fall.
Lawrence Technological University, Southfield, MI, US, Student Assistant for Humanities Department
I would take over for the secretary to the Department Chair when she left for the day or was in class. I would answer phones and walk-ins. I would also file confidential information and deliver mail. I did research projects and created documents for the secretary as well as professors. I was in charge of ordering text books for the professors as well.
Lakeshore Celaning Co., Holland, MI, US, Cleaning Attendant
Cleaned the offices of financial institutions and banks. Due to the nature of the buildings, security and confidentiality was exceptionally important. These places were cleaned daily, so the level of perfection and attention to detail in cleaning was critical. When I was done there wasn't a single finger print smug or speck of dust left. In fact, I was so good that my boss practically would not let me quit. He pleaded for me to stay until the last minute before I left for college.

Lawrence Technological University, Southfield, MI, US, Bachelors, Architecture
Graduated Summa Cum Laude, having been on the Dean's List every semester. I was nominated to be in Tao Sigma Delta, the architectural honors society, for being in the top 20% in my class. In Tao Sigma Delta I was able to visit New York City with several classmates where we toured a firm and visited many of the buildings we have learned about in history and contemporary architecture.
I took eight studios specifically related to architecture and two related more to art in general. I also took classes in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Psychology, and other required courses such as building construction, structures, and environmental systems.
