The city wants to develop a lot in the heart of Norfolk Virginia that currently occupies low income housing into a new downtown that increases the cities revenue, tourism and safety. By doing this they want to develop mixed use buildings with mixed income people so that all the low income residents will not have to relocate but the ones past the elaborate background test will be allowed to stay. 

My concept of the building was to create a push pull, allowing all units to gain ample sunlight and access to the lobby. i wanted everyone in the building to feel as an equal with the same opportunities and space throughout the place by creating space where neighbors can gather and congregate like lobby space, laundry mats and restaurant on the lower floor.
