112,000 square foot, 800 student core middle school with a project budget of $21,000,000.
Designed for LEED Silver certification, including daylighting, gray-water reclamation, geothermal HVAC, and full commissioning. Construction is primarily reinforced masonry with lightweight insulating concrete roofing over steel deck and joists.
Project came in under budget at bid opening, and completed without going over budget amount.
As Project Architect, I coordinated design and detailing efforts through the design phases toward completion of construction drawings by my team members. I prepared and edited all architectural specifications for the Project Manual.
Facility contains a rich palette of varied glazing, brick colors, mortar colors and joints, metal facings and interior colors subtly carry a theme of horizontals and verticals through the mass of the building, inside and outside.
