Cross Green Future Living

The context is to re-establish the cities inner brownfi eld area that has been abandoned. Re-development of the 36 to 60 hectare space into a controlled urban living environment, creating a new community for 1800 homes and sustainable in form, 95% of the material from site demolition and construction recycled in to the design.

City in the Park is the idea of living in a park, rather than living in a city with parks as rare spots. Living in a park also means the possibility to experience the park all day, all year around. We want the people living in the new area to be able to do this, and to be proud of their home. We also want the area to be a place that welcomes people from far and near.

With restaurants, nature, cafes, cinema, education, offi ces gardens, waterfront and much more, people from all over will be attracted to the area. It will also be an area that is vibrant and lively at all times, and not an isolated park that is empty and unsafe at late hours. In South Bank Park City, you will fi nd your own space, whether you are young or old, student or worker, visitor or residential, and no matter what you want your day to give you.

VISION IN BRIEF:

“To transform the South Bank of Leeds City Centre into a distinctive, vibrant, well connected and sustainable business and residential community which has at its heart a new City Centre Park.”
