Born from a Peter Eisenman exercise of “doubling”, the project questions the relationship of architecture and landscape. The artist studio relied on a “bowtie” mechanism - it emerged from the ground, only to turn over onto itself. As the visitor descends into the site the land grows, forming a wall. Their path continues as the earthed edge grows tall enough for them to pass under and through.
