While studying in Italy, I participated in a design workshop in collaboration with a Politechnic Institute in Torino. We worked in teams of 2 American students and 2 Italian students in the Build Smart 2011 Internaitonal Workshop and developed open source systems of environmental modulation in architectural surfaces. We worked within the FabLabItalia to fabricate our module prototypes and then designed a system that the systems could work within.
