After losing their homes, tornado victims need the mutual support of each other but also need to retain some of the privacy they lost with their homes. The structure of the sleeping units leans towards and connects at a central, community living space, bringing different families from the different units together. Within the sleeping units, moveable partitions in three different lengths separate beds into zones that can accommodate families of varying sizes, giving them a space to call their own within the communal environment. Individual beds have a blackout shade that pulls over the bed to both create a more intimate, personal sleeping space and block out sunlight for people who want to sleep late.
