This traditional single story adobe building is located within walking distance to the historic Sonoma plaza. The design idea of this project was focused on opening the interior without changing the exterior. Don Sebastiani and his sons keep a low profile in a town known for big wines and bigger wineries. This is where the smoking loon logo was designed.
The interior was gutted, and new finishes installed with a "back to the future" aesthetic pay tribute to the old school hands on approach toward graphic design in an open studio setting. The recycled classic incandescent light fixtures, and the refinished and exposed existing duct-work combined with open cubicles to encourage teamwork made this a truly unique interior design/build project in a branding industry dominated by large corporate design firms.
