I was selected along with two other students to participate in the professional design studio program at LPA Inc. in Irvine, CA. During the week we functioned as normal employees for the firm and worked together on a design project as a group. Working with a group was a great experience in both teamwork and leadership that really taught me a lot about myself.

Our project was an adaptive reuse of existing warehouses into a design studio/retail store for the company Nike Inc, which encompasses Nike6.0, Hurley, and Quicksilver. The project included retail space up front, a courtyard for events and community use, and the back private offices and design studios. This project had to work with the existing structures and create a healthy environment for the employees while still maintaining a separation of public and private spaces that would draw customers to the site.
