A C O N T A I N E R F O R V I S I T O R S : a studio project investigating the typology of a hotel in a downtown area

Shops,  restaurants and museums attract many tourists to downtown  Fargo from their nearby rural communities.  This hotel is  a proposed design solution for a vacant lot along Broadway.  The hotel will fill the heavy void in the streetscape while acknowledging the stark grid of the urban layout.  The design playfully designates the entire plot as occupied for and by visitors. Essentially a container for visitors, the hotel structure is expressively being pulled through a grid and engaging citizens and tourists alike, in the life of the city.
