At my time at Carducci Associates, I worked with community members, city staff, and the Parks & Recreation Commission of Healdsburg, California, to develop the award-winning master plan for the rehabilitation of Giorgi Park. The approved master plan was selected from several options developed through a directed community participation process, and expands the park from 2.5 acres to 3.9 acres. The plan includes new park-to-neighborhood connections, basketball and bocce courts, turf and picnic areas, a new restroom building, two renovated playgrounds, and parking lot areas with bio-filtration planting beds. Existing park amenities that were preserved include tennis courts, park buildings, and all existing trees on the park site. The master plan identifies art and site-specific design opportunities within play areas, seating areas, and at entries to the park.
