Tiverton Library (spring 2008)

As a response to the nature of the site, the design focused on a natural blending of the interior and exterior condition. Paths flow into, through, and back out again. An alternating grid of tree columns, simulating a canopy, can be occupied for a comfortable reading environment. The two outer wings of the building rise up toward the wooded area of the south, gaining views of nature as well as bringing in natural light for reading. The middle of the project rises up toward the north, engaging the main access road in order to entice town patrons.
