Performing Arts Center

The idea of the project was to develop an architectural proposal in conjunction with an urban design approach to replace an existing parking lot for a Performing Arts Center. The design was to have an external and internal path that encouraged different types of movement through the building. The external path pulls in the Delancey pedestrian through the Arts Center for a visual and physical interaction with the users of the building. On a daily base, the public can walk into the external path and view the gallery, lounge, lobby, amphitheater, and garden  spaces that are on ground level. The slopes of the roof open up the facade to capture views and movements on Essex Street and the proposed garden and amphitheater on Broome Street.

Programs: Auditorium, Black Box, Gallery, Dance Studios, Lobby, Lounge, Gift Shop, Offices        (Total Sq Ft : 31,308)
