This project had to combine housing and manufacturing within the same location in an industrialized housing area of Williamsburg.  My intent was to remove the typical housing block from the equation and design a space that not only gave each resident something that is frequently forgotten, ie. a yard, but also to supply a way in which the community could move not just around but through the space.  By splitting the lot it gave the residents of the units as well as the surrounding community a way to occupy the space that is truly unique in the city.
