This project is located on the Gowanus Canal in New York City. It was designed with the intent of education and recreation on the Gowanus Canal. The site was originally used as a community gathering place where festivals were held. The strength of community was heavily incorporated in the design as the majority of the building is located under ground preserving and raising the communal gathering space.
