Luis Vidal + Architects is spearheading a transformative
and pioneering project destined to become the symbol of
the city of Madrid: the new Torres Colón. This building
is designed to surpass environmental, economic,
and social standards, aiming to be an internationally
acclaimed masterpiece.
The environmental responsibility inherent in all projects
by Luis Vidal + Architects will make the new Torres
Colón the fi rst nearly zero-energy business tower in
Spain and the most sustainable and technologically
advanced offi ce building in the capital.
The pillars of the project, supported by meticulous
documentation and monitoring, include user well-being,
carbon footprint reduction, and technology.
Numerous measures have been taken to achieve this
level of excellence, such as a 40% increase in natural
ventilation, the use of natural light and materials without
volatile components, user-controlled lighting via
mobile devices, and a high-effi ciency facade to enhance
the building's thermal and acoustic performance,
along with landscaped outdoor spaces. In addition to
a versatile auditorium, the sky offi ce with a terrace will
provide a breathtaking 360º view of the city of Madrid.
The property will feature four new offi ce fl oors.
Nevertheless, the height (117 meters) and building
capacity of the towers will be maintained as required
by the Directorate General of Building Control. The
current surface area is 20,298 m², and it will remain
unchanged.
The new Torres Colón is poised to be a legacy for future
generations and a catalyst for urban revitalization.
The design has already received approval from the
Commission for the Protection of Historical-Artistic
and Natural Heritage of the City Council of Madrid.
Torres Colón will revitalize and modernize the image of
an emblematic area in the city.
