Healthcare is one of the most basic human needs that every person should have the right to. In Colombia, the healthcare program is having a successful increase in the past few years, helping more people year by year. Life expectancy is increasing in the country due to greater awareness and value of personal health. For this reason, the demand for spaces and programs that help people process the concept of death, is higher than ever now that life is of much greater value. This project aims to raise awareness of the importance of having a dignified death. Even though our mind is programmed to make everything in our power to sub-exist, there is a point in life where we must start thinking on how we want to die. What happens to us after death has always been an inexplicable aspect in human life and it is something even science hasn’t been able to explain. This is why death is feared by many, because we don’t know what to expect. My objective with this project is to create a culturized vision of death and for people to understand that we have the right to prepare for the end of life.

This hospice will focus on terminal patients and caregivers as its prime users. With the presence of a medical system as well as psychological support, the program is designed to treat all the aspects of the patients well being. The design is driven to create a sense of place, privacy and comfortability for all users to spend their last days in peace with their loved ones.
