This proposed monastery embraces and enhances the babbling inlet off the bank of Chapel Island in Richmond, Va. Although this building fulfills the traditional program of monk cells, living quarters for guests, a library, a refectory, and a chapel, it also houses service programs to the public. It is a public park with gardens and outlooks as well as a facility for the sale and production of clothing, bespoke suits.
