The Center for Information and Collaboration(CIC) is intended as a nexus for interdisciplinary research and collaboration through the successful combination of the library collection of the Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture(CAPLA) and the College of Fine Art along with a variety of meeting, study, exhibition, and work space. The CIC took the precedent study of the Cooper Union, located at Manhattan, New York City, designed by Morphosis Architecture. It has the concept of creating a “Vertical Plaza” and connection with the circulation of the campus. Also, for attracting student and having a comfortable study space, the CIC tend to combine the natural element into the building. The only natural element around the site is the CAPLA garden located at north. Therefore, creating two stair facing south and north to connect the circulation around the site and the natural element at north and bring into the building. Also, it allow the people have the experience about the indoor and outdoor experience, because it has the open space between the two “solid” part of the building. And the roof structure also provide the daylight the shading.
