The Dry Creek Rancheria Resort and Casino project is an expansion project to the existing River Rock Casino. The existing casino is an Indian gaming casino that consists of 2 tent structures.
and a multi-level above ground parking deck. The Dry Creek project would replace the existing structures with a new structure that would include 200+ guestrooms, increased gaming facilities,
restaurants, retail, and spa components. Given the location of the site in California’s Alexander Valley, the client wanted us to capture the regions wine culture and history, and design the project as if it were a Tuscan Village. Our major design focus became trying to make the project appear as if different pieces were built at different times, just like that of a Tuscany Village. A secondary design objective that arouse was to use the guestroom tower as a buffer, and block the views of the existing parking structure. The topography of the site proved to be challenging at times, but often times helped as we carried out the design theme of the project.
