The  proposal for the set design is extracted from the show’s theme of “Celestial Couture.” The fourteen by fifteen foot panel is the center piece of the show and exists as a pulsating field in the background to  complement the garments on the runway like stars in the night sky. 

In addition to the aesthetics of the panel, engineering is incorporated to bring the field to a more interactive level.  Each of the components move in and out independently in response to the music. This is achieved through the connection of the modules, arduino boards and motors that sense the four count beat in the music selection. The end result is a continuous pulsating field that captures light and  exposes voids suggesting more than just a stagnant field, but an interactive spatial addition that responds to it’s environment.
