Dear Human Resources Department:
In response to your recent advertisement, I hope you might consider me for a position with your firm.
Since my graduation from NJIT, I’ve had a gamut of experience, as reflected in my enclosed resume.
Most recently, I was retained by Homes For All in Toms River as a project manager, constructing multi-family affordable housing. My responsibilities included preliminary design, code compliance, overseeing of construction documents, takeoffs, budget preparation, and construction administration.
Prior to that, I was an Architect for The Liro Group on the QA/QC team of the Hurricane Sandy NJRREM Program, concentrating my efforts within the Ocean and Monmouth County areas of New Jersey. I was instrumental in upgrading HUD’s standards to New Jersey code.
Since the storm, I have received certification as a DSW Volunteer Safety Assessor on the Damage Assessment Team through the AIA NJ Homeland Security Committee.
You will see my background includes marketing, design and construction administration. I have extensive experience in retail tenant spaces throughout the United States. I’ve worked on civic, commercial and educational buildings. My projects include hospitality, institutional, religious and retail structures. New and renovated single and multi-family residential buildings have been under my jurisdiction.
Throughout my career, I have conducted forensic investigations, and specified and oversaw their rectifications.
I am a Registered Architect within the State of New Jersey.
My responsibilities have included administrative operations, billing and staff management. I’ve handled client relations,
marketing and design. Bidding, contract and construction administration have been my responsibility. I’ve testified before planning, zoning and historical review boards.
Having an interest in new products and their applications, I have had the opportunity to develop, in conjunction
with manufacturers, new products. These products include, but are not limited to, carpets, tile, wallcoverings,
and lighting fixtures. I’ve initiated new interior and exterior trims, details, and finishes, interior furniture, site furnishings and treatments.
The sensitive restoration and reuse of historic structures has always been important to me.
One of my projects was the renovation of a 300 year old stone cow barn into Equus Restaurant and
Tavern in Bernardsville.
I have a working knowledge of AutoCAD, DataCAD, Exactimate, Excel, 20/20 and QuickBooks.
With more than twenty years experience in the profession, my projects range from residential additions to Mid-Town Manhattan hotels and office buildings.
Additionally, I am a talented designer, and have the experience and ability to enhance a myriad of project types.
I am excited about the chance to work with you toward arranging for an interview for a position, at which time
my portfolio and work samples may be reviewed.
If you would like to talk with me or schedule an interview, please call me on my cell phone: 908-208-5561.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Harold T. Evegan
