Justin Skoda grew up and attended grade school in Diamond Bar, California before moving at 7 to Tustin, CA in Orange County south of Los Angeles. While visiting family in Los Angeles and traveling to different cities and countries with his family he became more interested and inspired by the architecture and urban spaces of cities. As time progressed he expanded his interests and knowledge and critiques of the urbanity that he both lived everyday and was able to visit both briefly and for an extend period of time locally and abroad.
Ultimately these interests led him to pursue a degree in Architecture, receiving his BArch from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in June 2013 with a minor in Sustainable Environments. During the course of the degree, he sought out additional coursework to widen the breadth of the required architecture coursework, including classes in City and Regional Planning, Geography, Political-Economics and Sustainability. Additionally he also had the opportunity to study abroad for a full academic year in Copenhagen, Denmark in connection with Cal Poly during his 4th Year. While in Denmark, Justin maintained a standard course load including a Studio course, as well as Danish Language and Culture, Urban Design as well as Watercolor and Contemporary European Urban Theory. While abroad he had the chance to travel both as part of 'study tours' with the school and extensive explorative travel between and during semester study breaks throughout Europe.
After graduating Cal Poly, Justin accepted a 3 month internship with Lehrer Architects in Silverlake, Los Angeles, CA to gain additional work experience and skills.
Today Justin Skoda resides in Echo Park, Los Angeles, CA seeking a full time position at an Architecture and or Urban Design firm.
