About 

Experienced Interior Design professional and former educator with concentration in Commerical Design and Project Management.  My work background includes experience with upgrading office space in federal facilities, commerical offices and private offices. The projects includes Federal, Corporate and Healthcare facilities.   Interior Design professional with demonstrated skills in, but not limited to managing office moves, space planning, conducting field surveys, construction documentation, budgeting, scheduling, contract administration,cost estimation, team management and working with GSA vendors.

Architectural Designer for federal projects at Columbia, MD and McLean,VA. This includes architectural drafting, field survey, construction documentation and developing cost estimates. This is a contract position which I may be subject to be recalled. As Designer III, I was able to develop construction documents, cost estimates, and help assist upgrading office space for the following locations under the Department of Defense: AFETA(Construction Documentation for Williamsburg,VA location), MPO (Maryland Procurment Office under NSA ), and Government office in McLean,VA. This included reviewing budget for Interior Design services for INEZ, ADA analysis for area locations that need accommodation(restrooms./lockers), some spaceplanning for area offices, project coordination for construction documentation upon review from the Project Architect, field survey of area locations and review of furniture/materials specified by project in McLean,VA.

My responsibilities included preparing floor plans, plotting, developing color layouts and revisions to several offices within the divisions of DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency). This includes developing layouts for planned offices including input information for office layouts. Developing CAD Standards Manual for DISA for the BRAC (BTO) Relocation. The process included the blocking and stacking program using i-Drawings Facilities Management software and AUTO-CAD Architecture 2010.

As Adjunct Professor at this local community college, I taught courses in AUTO-CAD at the High Technology Building for the Engineering Technology Department. This includes teaching to engineering students, conducting lectures showing AUTO-CAD presentations, reviewing students’ assignments and occasionally tutoring students on campus, and grading assignments.

I have taught advanced and basic courses at Westwood College under the School of Interior Design and Computer Aided Drafting. This included AUTO-CAD courses, Architectural Drafting & Interior design course. I successfully managed in teaching approximately 15-20 students per semester. In the program I delivered lectures, developing student projects, developing trips, assigned grades, advised students and tutored students who needed assistance in AUTO-CAD. I performed other academic-related administrative tasks such as some experience in developing scheduling and contacting students regarding class program. I helped bring in the student chapter of ASID under the program with Lead Faculty.

Engineering Designer for M-R/ Innoveers which is a government consultant firm that deals with government contracts. I worked as a Designer on several small projects which include the following: D.C. Council of Arts, Paxtuxet River, Dept. of Navy and Providence Hospital. Reviewed for the following projects Construction Documentation: D.C. Council of Arts, Paxtuxet River, Dept. of Navy and Providence Hospital; Design and Edited plans: D.C. Council of Arts and Providence Hospital and Field Survey: Providence Hospital.
Represented MR/Innoveers as liaison to GSA representative, industry specialists and contract furniture vendors. This included putting construction documents together, editing redlines by Senior Engineer, editing Spec Books, and reviewing GSA contracts. I helped plan office space for the company and developed company website while working on staff.

As Adjunct Instructor, I taught basic and advanced courses in AUTO-CAD and Architectural Drafting at ITT Technical Institute under the School of Computer Drafting and Design. My responsibilities included preparing classes, delivered lectures, assigned grades, advised students and performed academic-related administrative tasks. This included attending faculty meetings and report to Dean of the School of Drafting and Design. Received exceptional rating from students and faculty while teaching at this school. I taught at the Chantilly campus for 2 years, and then transferred to the Owings Mills campus.

Performed full range Interior Design and Space planning for the following government clients: D.C. Government (Department of Human Resources), Smithsonian, Department of Justice and FDA (Food and Drug Administration). For D.C. Government required field survey of local tenant space which was in the process of being renovated. This included the documentation of existing conditions, photography and CAD drafting. My responsibilities included production of construction documentation and some selection of finishes. Smithsonians annex building (Victor Building) which required full inventory of furnishing & equipment of seven floors. This project included documentation of the existing furnishings and producing new furniture plans of relocated furniture. Department of Justice required field survey of existing conditions which included walls, ceiling conditions, lighting, doors and furnishings. This required updating current floor plans for this department. I assisted Senior Designer in putting presentation boards for FDA (Food & Drug Administration).

Gruzen Samton Architects, LLP, Alexandria,VA, Interior Designer (Contract Position)

Performed full range Interior Design and Space planning while working specifically on D.C. Court Project (Carl Moltrie Building) for this firm. This required assisting Junior Interior Designer in field survey the corridors of Carl Moultrie Building to update existing AUTO-CAD drawings for final construction document submittal. Also assisted Senior Level Designer with the U.S. Census Building in Largo, MD. This required updating furniture layouts and completing signage drawings for their construction documents. For both projects I followed government regulations, building codes: ADA compliance and GSA standards.

Heery International Inc., Landover, MD, US, Interior Designer (Contract with CSOSA)

Performed Space planning and other Interior Design services while under contract with Court Services and Offender Supervisory Agency (CSOSA) for HEERY International. I partnered with Senior Space Management Specialist for several months working in upgrading office space within the main agency and satellite offices. This required field survey of office space, tracking square footage of offices, CAD drafting, developing presentation boards and selection of sources for various offices. Served as an illasion with various government executives and contract employees in upgrading government office space. Participated in on-site training in AUTO-CAD Architectural Desktop 2005.
