In 2005 David Barr graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelors of Architecture. In 2007 He received his Masters of Architecture, also from the University of Cincinnati. During his time in school, he served as a GA to the graduate school director, Patricia Kucker. He also served as president of the Masters of Architecture for the School of Architecture and Interior Design (SAID), and treasurer of the Student Society of SAID.
As part of his program at the University of Cincinnati, David worked as an intern for The SmithGroup JJR Architects (Phoenix, Arizona), Lippincott Brand Strategies (New York, New York) and Archi-Tectonics (New York, New York). Each internship lasted for 6 months total.
After graduation David worked for 3 months at Michael Mcinturf Architects (Cincinnati, Ohio). He then returned to Archi-Tectonics, where he worked his way through the ranks before settling into his current position as Design Director, overseeing both office and design responsibilities.
Throughout his career David has worked on many high profile projects, including Ports 1961 (Shanghai, China, and Paris, France), and the prestigious V33 Condominium Building (New York, New York). Several projects that David has worked on have been written up by publications such as Interior Design Magazine, Mark Magazine, The Architect's Newspaper, and Surface Magazine.
As a designer, David is committed to performative design which reacts to site and cultural conditions, as well as advanced fabrication techniques. His recent work has expanded upon these ideas by reinterpreting traditional materiality and details into more contemporary forms and fabrication techniques.

The Design Director is part of the Team of Archi-Tectonics. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing Design activities; including designing, and implementing projects. Ensures that Design activities are timely and completed in accordance with established quality standards and procedures. Develops and implements policies that ensure effective completion of area functions. Coordinates closely with related departments to maintain schedules and effect necessary changes and revisions. Assigns, trans, and directs Architectural Personnel. Ensures that safety regulations area closely adhered to. Completed related documentation as required.
