Tue Duc Pham had the Master of Science in Sustainable Design at UT Austin School of Architecture. During his time at UT, he received the Independent Travel Scholarship to study new sustainable architecture in Singapore, and Scholarship for the Spring Semester of 2014. In this master thesis, he is interested in the integrated relationship between new aesthetics and sustainable design, especially in ecotourism. Besides the academic realm, he has working experience in Southeast Asia, Caribbean, New York, and Austin. After the graduation, he will continue to work as a designer in his continuous attempt to incorporate sustainability into the built environment in the meaningful and beautiful ways.

The program as a whole integrates three areas of inquiry related to the built environment — natural systems, building systems, and cultural systems. The study of natural systems relies upon the disciplines of physics and ecology as they relate to architecture. The study of building systems includes investigation of those component technologies that are required to construct environmentally responsive architecture. The study of cultural systems requires that natural and building systems be investigated within the complex social and political context of architectural practice. In sum, the Sustainable Design Program is practical, technical, and philosophical in scope.
