My name is Kim Au Le and I have recently received a Bachelor of Fine Art from The Art Institute of Seattle in Interior Design. I am currently seeking to utilize my passion for design as part of a diverse and collaborative creative team.
My objective is to be critical designing and to push limits of innovation, while creating and enriching communities and environments. Through the practice of interior design and space functionality, the poetics of space, a maturity of ideas can be expressed cohesively. I want interior space to be emotional, artistic, tactile, and temporal and I value design that most challenges the current accepted idea of what constitutes “value” in interior design.
I also believe that sustainability should not be an afterthought, and is deeply integral to every decision of every project phase. This entails providing the most appropriate design solution with regard for social, cultural, and environmental contexts. Through consideration of these variables, I believe it is possible to lessen the impact of today’s interiors to achieve imaginative, yet sustainable results.
